Painting
Something about a fresh coat of paint makes the world a little brighter. While you cover up the scratches that occurred in the past, you also get a fresh start and a clean look. Today some Foundation volunteers painted the kitchen and living room of the house in which Fostering Independence young adults reside. The program is managed by Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center and caters to young adults who have aged out of foster care and find themselves homeless. It occurs to me that while each of those young people certainly can’t forget about the scars of their past, what Mary Rigg provides them is a fresh coat of paint—that little motivator that will help them start fresh in adult life.
