Small gifts are not insignificant...
I've heard some people protest making a donation to a charity (namely the REALTOR® Foundation) because they "don't have a lot to give." But before you say 'no' to donating because your $20 wouldn't make a difference, think again. This year, the REALTOR® Foundation has raised more than $37,000, and nearly 80 percent of our donors have donated under $250. We are accomplishing large tasks with the help of an entire team of people.
In fact, those who "don't have a lot to give" are making big waves these days. According to CNN.com, Barack Obama has raised a total of $240 million during his campaign, more than $45 million more than his democratic opponent Hillary Clinton and three times more than apparent Republican nominee John McCain. What's important is not just that he has raised that amount--it's how he has done it. Because of his inclusive style, people have donated who might not normally--45% of his donors have given $200 or less.
We ARE changing the world one dollar at a time!
