So I told you about a celebrity who backs homelessness...now there's at least one who is almost homeless himself.  Did you see this one? Ed McMahon was about to file for foreclosure, and Donald Trump decided to bail him out and buy the house. McMahon will still continue to live there and lease the property. US News' Luke Mullins has blogged on this event at: http://www.usnews.com/blogs/the-home-front/2008/6/4/ed-mcmahon-battles-foreclosure.html, noting that Mr. McMahon probably won't get much sympathy from Americans. However, the interesting part comes when you read the audience comments on this blog....among ones that are notable:

"Maybe someone will ring his doorbell and surprise him with a million dollar check printed on a sign."

"There's no reason why an 85 year-old has any business having a mortgage if he needs to work to earn money to pay the mortgage."
