Pink Bicycles
I'm back! Did you miss me? That long weekend put my brain into sleep mode, I'll admit. But my crusade for awareness of homelessness continues. I thought I saw something in the paper yesterday about a homeless bicycle ride, but now I can't find it. Instead, I found a few other tidbits: 1) if you Google homeless bicycle, the first entry is a charity advice column about holding bicycle drives for the homeless. Good idea, really--they all need transportation more than anything, and who wants to pay gas prices these days? 2) farther down, there's something on 'pink bicycles' that caught my eye. So I clicked on it. And I found this wonderful blog about the daily life in a homeless shelter. The pink bike reference is about a bike that was abandoned or maybe stolen and all the innocence that a little pink bicycle represents, tassles and all. Here's the link--there are other very interesting entries.

If you have time, also check out the 'About Me' section. I checked there to see who the author was and I found this challenge: describe yourself without referring to your job, your possessions, or your accomplishments.
