As most supporters of the Foundation know, domestic violence is a key contributor to homelessness. Coburn Place Safe Haven, a recipient of REALTOR® Foundation funding, supports domestic violence victims and their kids and offers these thoughts as we enter October - Domestic Violence Awareness Month. According to Coburn:

• In the U.S. alone, a person is physically abused by a current or former intimate partner every 9 seconds. That's equal to 9,600 people each day.   
  
• 25% of women and 8% of men report being physically or sexually assaulted during their lives
