I just heard that a local homeless day center is closing its doors on Sundays for financial reasons. It's certainly a sign of the times that businesses are having to make tough decisions based on cash flow. But then I started thinking...where will those clients go who normally use that shelter? I mean, if you're homeless, you don't exactly take a day off from being homeless or confine it to an 8-5 weekdays schedule.

So...maybe this Sunday, as we're watching the NFL or doing other weekend activities, we'll remember that homelessness extends to the weekends.
